Nice op-ed piece about Obama’s new initiative to teach computer science more broadly. There certainly is value in learning how to code, but the trick is going beyond just a “trade.” Programming can be stultifying, or it can be a vehicle for learning formal logic and critical thinking, while also being a tool for creativity. Just depends on how you frame/teach it.
