Another article on the rumored Google standalone “casual VR” device. I’m wondering if this might actually have two displays instead of one. The reason being you might be able to get higher resolution and refresh rate in a smaller panel, and since you’re not using it as a phone, having a separate screen for left and right eye might get you more bang for the buck. Might be issues with sync though – but time will tell. When you’re not trying to multi-task hardware (taking a phone and turning it into a stereo display), things can be optimized in different ways.
