Turns out google wants more than your information…they want your blood sans needle. Being able to do a non-invasive blood draw is a holy grail for health telemetry. Wearable sensors are limited in what they can assay, while injectables are…well, injectable. Being able to get a small amount of blood in a painless and non-invasive way can provide another target for assessment and indicate treatments and/or behavior modification.
