Plague Inc is a game where players try to create a pathogen that wipes out the planet. Given the Covid-19 situation, the developer was in a tough situation. The game has been around since 2012 and has a loyal player base. But it also has been banned in China due to the subject matter. To their credit, Ndemic Creations has not only donated money to helping fight Covid-19, but they’ve created a new game mode where players can fight pathogens. While not exactly a scientific Folding@Home approach, the game play is being developed with input from the WHO.
