ET Phone Home No More

Ars Technica reports that SETI@home is going on hiatus this month. The distributed computing project actually is calling it somewhat “mission accomplished”, at least with the crowd-sourced part of the project. They now have so much data that there is a backlog of analysis. So rather than continue to pile up the data, best to take a break.

But fear not, there are other distributed computing projects that need your cycles! In particular, Folding@home is working on a number of biological structures, and keeping with the times, various Corona virus structures are being explored.
