8-bit education

For a current project with the Army, early on I suggested that we look at Minecraft as a platform to build the solution (Early Synthetic Prototyping). The idea met with a combination of laughs and somewhat horrified stares. We eventually built a more “serious” system but my belief in Minecraft as a training, education, and prototyping tool persists. Evidently I’m not the only one that thinks that. Friend and colleague Mimi Ito started Connected Camps to explore the art of the possible. And now Microsoft is looking to launch the education variant of Minecraft this summer.
